Seal Ring made of CarSIK-CT

Sliding ring made of reaction-bonded silicon carbide CarSIK-CT

Our seal rings made of reaction-bonded silicon carbide with embedded graphite molecules enables the ring to be split without losing its sealing effect. This means that the entire shaft does not have to be removed when replacing the seal ring; instead, the ring can be fitted around the shaft from the outside. The embedded graphite also gives the ring reliable emergency running properties due to its inherent lubricating properties, so that the pump can run for a certain time without lubricant without the mechanical seal being destroyed. Typical applications for our mechanical seal are in the marine, oil and gas industries as part of a seal packing or a pump system. You can find out more about our silicon carbide ceramics on our comparison page.

Take advantage of these benefits:

  • Lower costs - no complete shaft removal necessary
  • Time savings - reduction in costly downtimes and failures
  • Increased operational reliability due to emergency running properties
  • Wide range of applications
